I want to tell my life story to the kids out there on the streets.

When I was a child, I lost my father when I was in grade 1, due to that, my life changed and my aunties from my father’s side rejected me. My mum was not working at that time and it was not easy, but I pushed hard until I made it to grade 5 even though there were some challenges in between. When I was in grade 5 my mum was struggling to pay my school fees so I started to go to the street to beg with my mum’s cousin who was blind. I then went on my own to beg for money on the street to pay for my school fees.

When I was in grade 6 I met Mrs. Rudland at 2nd street where I was begging. She started to pay for my school fees and bought me clothes. From then on I started to work hard at school because I had an opportunity to go to a nice school and I didn’t want to lose that chance, because life on the street was hard. Every term she wanted to see my school report. When I finished my primary school in Chitungwiza she found me a place for form 1 in Vainona High School and I started to stay with her in Milton Park. I completed my high school in 2007 and started my apprentice for motor mechanics because I had a passion for cars.

When I started the journey of my life I did not believe in myself but my boss Simon Rudland was supporting me and encouraging me that I will make it in life and be successful. Now I am the owner of my transport company.

There is no excuse for you not to try in life and one thing you should keep in mind is that quitting is not an option and in life, you have to be honest.

To those who haven’t started yet, it’s never too late to learn, you can always learn something new.

Sometimes people will reject you but that should not stop you from achieving what you want to achieve.
