These are prestigious Friendlies who volunteer to be enlisted on our stand-by deployment roll to be deployed anywhere in the wake of a disaster or whenever need to help the disadvantaged arises. They are our dear rapid-response team waiting in the wings to take part in recovery efforts during, before and after a disaster or any delicate situations affecting humanity that may require urgent attention. Anyone, skilled or not can submit their names to join our QRF. We call them Quick Reaction Friendlies because they will be called upon on short notice as disasters seldom give warning shots before striking. You also do not have to be in Zimbabwe or a Zimbabwean to join, you can join our QRF wherever you are as love, caring and sharing have no boundaries.
Please note, Quick Reaction Friendlies are volunteers meaning they freely enlist expecting no payment in return. These are friendly women and men who pledge their support, technical expertise and their time among other things to help people in difficult situations. Being a member of our QRF means that your hand is always stretched to reach out and touch endangered lives. Someone out there needs your help right now or will need your help at some time, we beg you to do humanity a favour by making yourself available for help. Volunteering has an inward priceless benefit, which is the satisfaction one gets just by knowing that they have done something to help change someone’s life for the better. The feeling and sense of fulfillment that comes with selflessly undertaking such an act of humanity is out of this world, the thrill lasts a lifetime.
Besides responding to emergencies the QRF may be called upon to help through environmental and community volunteering. Environmental volunteering is when the QRF is mobilized for activities of managing and conserving the environment. On the other hand they might be called up to help carry out varying activities for the benefit of various communities which might be cleaning at a community clinic or picking up litter.
When submitting your name, we will kindly ask you to give us the following details, your phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, trained skills (If you have any), occupation, town and country. This information will help us to communicate and mobilize the QRF whenever need arises. Details of gender, trained skills and a brief description about you will help us decide the most appropriate QFR to mobilize for a particular situation. The information will only be used for the purposes of our QRF and the work of the Friendly Society and its partners.
